Insight 2015 recap

Well, it’s already / finally over and I must say I’m very impressed. I didn’t expect anything close to what it was for me: I met heaps of great people, learned a lot of new things and had a few long nights out ) I also got a massive cold so I’m spending the last day lying in the bed typing this.

I’m finally going to bat country, yay! And not just going, I’ll even be onstage (just for a few minutes, don’t worry).

Our presentation was approved, so on 26-Oct at 10:30 AM-11:30 AM, we’d be talking about TM1 in Sanofi Aventis. It took a good part of my youth last 3 years, but we do have something to show for it:

Just finished yet another Coursera course and am very impressed by quality of content and lectures. This time it was more of a ’subject matter’/‘business’ course rather than the usual technical stuff.

Finally Cognos BI Software Development Kit is free to use

In case you missed the news, Cognos Software Development Kit became a part of BI Administrator license during the latest IBM license revamp. That’s fantastic news, because you get heaps of functionality for free. You don’t need to be particularly savvy with Java and .Net, there dozens of sample utilities released by IBM where you only need to substitute parameters and use them straight-away.

TM1 Applications Contributor Sandboxes and Commit

A quick note on how TM1 Applications / Contributor works with sandboxes. Quite common knowledge, but can be useful for debugging, so I’m wrapping it up as a post.

TM1 Applications / Contributor uses sandboxes to do cell colour and improve system bandwidth with multiple users, so each time you take ownership of the node, a new sandbox will be created with the following name SandboxName_}tp_tasks_Application_ID_Node_You_Took_Ownership_On_application_id where:
